Joint Agency ABE - Child Module 1
Eight day course. Course code ABECMOD1V1
This course is run on a multi-agency basis. It brings together professionals from police and social services working to a joint aim within the child protection arena.
Who needs to do it?
Group 4 and above.
Devon County Council employees who are involved in interviewing children.
Police officers who have completed their probationary period. Social workers and police officers who have completed the pre-requisite child protection Group 3 and 4 courses in their areas. Police Officers must have completed PEACE/Interview Skills course before attending and pre-requisite foundation child protection multi-agency courses.
Learning outcomes

- Demonstrate the gathering of information and evidence from a child.
- Apply understanding and commitment to anti-oppressive, anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practice.
- Ability to operate effective interviews of child victims and to increase public satisfaction and confidence
