Part 2 Integrated Working Core Training

Exeter Community Initiatives www.eci.org.uk  in partnership with South West Family Support http://www.swfamilysupport.org.uk/  is delivering Integrated Working in Practice training. We are two local charities both working with children and families in Devon so understand the difficulties involved in multi-agency working. Through this training we hope we can share our learning and learn from you at the same time.

This training is replacing the AXS 03 training and is aimed at any practitioner that uses the CAF to assess families’ needs, lead professionals and works in close proximity with other services. For example, this would include Family Support Workers, Health Visitors, Youth Workers, YOT workers, SENCOs. We recognise that the whole context within which integrated working happens is changing in Devon and the rest of the UK. However, the need for good quality integrated working remains. The evidence that integrated working produces much better results for children, young people and their families continues to grow (e.g. Munroe review). The training has been split into 3 parts.

Part 1– a reference book & exercise book. The reference book is designed to give you a detailed overview of the various elements of integrated working that you need to know. Part 2– Core 1 day training. It is designed to build on the learning gained from Part 1 and give you practice within a peer group to improve your practice.

Part 3– ½ day workshops.
These are designed to give you an opportunity to reflect with other practitioners from your area on the learning from Parts 1 and 2, and tackle any pertinent issues arising within your locality, such as:

Completing the CAF
Information sharing
Managing and chairing TAC meetings
Being a Lead Professional
We will try to respond to any other issue that is raised through the local network
